What is Heart Arrhythmia?
Heart arrhythmia, also known as irregular heartbeat, is a condition where the heart beats too fast, too slow, or irregularly.
Types of Heart Arrhythmia
- The normal heart rate is between 60 and 100 beats per minute.
- Bradycardia: A heart rate slower than 60 beats per minute.
- Tachycardia: A heart rate faster than 100 beats per minute.
Causes of Heart Arrhythmia
- External factors: Exercise, hot weather, excitement, fear, anxiety, dehydration, low blood sugar, blood loss, stress, alcohol or caffeine consumption, smoking, drug use.
- Internal factors: Heart attack, congenital heart defects, heart valve disease, high blood pressure, anemia, hyperthyroidism, sleep apnea.
Symptoms of Heart Arrhythmia
- Palpitations
- Dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting
- Fatigue, shortness of breath
- Chest pain
Prevention of Heart Arrhythmia
- Get regular checkups.
- Get enough sleep.
- Exercise regularly.
- Avoid sugary, fatty, and salty foods, and drinks that stimulate the heart rate.
